Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen 'staying in separate homes' during hurricane evacuation

It was previously reported that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, wife Gisele Bündchen, and their children had evacuated Tampa and traveled to Miami before Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida.

There's a new update on the situation.

According to Mara Siegler of Page Six, Brady and Bündchen are "staying in separate homes" in Miami amid their much-reported alleged marital issues supposedly linked with the signal-caller's decision to un-retire and play at least one more NFL season. Brady and the Buccaneers are using the Miami Dolphins' facility for midweek practices ahead of the upcoming "Sunday Night Football" home game against the 2-1 Kansas City Chiefs due to concerns related to the storm.

This is the latest twist in the saga that unofficially began when Brady took an 11-day break away from the Buccaneers last month during the preseason for unspecified "personal" reasons, and subsequent reports claimed he and Bündchen were "living separately" and that the seven-time Super Bowl champion "knows he needs to retire after this year 'if he wants to stay married.'"

While the Buccaneers are 2-1 in the closing days of September, individuals such as Mark Schofield of SB Nation and Will Leitch of New York Magazine noted the 45-year-old looked "miserable" across the campaign's first three weeks. A frustrated Brady was spotted violently throwing a sideline tablet to the ground during what became a 20-10 win at the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 18.

Brady finished the 2021 regular season as a Most Valuable Player candidate who led the entire league in completions, pass attempts, passing yards and passing touchdowns, but he didn't come close to matching that type of production over his three September outings. He tossed just one touchdown in each of those games and, per ESPN stats, is currently 14th among eligible quarterbacks with an 89.2 passer rating and 17th with a 47.5 total QBR.

As for Sunday's Chiefs-Buccaneers clash, it was reported earlier on Wednesday that the matchup could be relocated from Florida to U.S. Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings, depending on the damage done by Hurricane Ian. Such a decision may not be announced before some point on Friday.
