Tom Brady gives huge update on Fox future

Retired quarterback Tom Brady spoke during a Tuesday appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" about replacing Greg Olsen as Fox's lead NFL analyst next season.

"I've been out to the Fox studios a few times and I'm really excited to join an amazing team," Brady said about working alongside lead play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt, as shared by Alex Raskin of the Daily Mail. "Next year I'm gonna be calling a Super Bowl for Fox, which is going to be incredible."

CBS has the broadcast rights for the Super Bowl LVIII matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11.

Per Awful Announcing, Brady revealed on Tuesday that he has already practiced calling action with Burkhardt. The seven-time Super Bowl champion added that he feels Olsen "does an incredible job" in the booth.

It was reported over the weekend that Brady had spent time at the Fox studios preparing for his next career after he enjoyed a so-called "gap year" away from the NFL. While he reportedly is set to earn $375M across 10 seasons from Fox, media insider Richard Deitsch of The Athletic suggested on Monday that Olsen could return to the network's lead booth "within three to five years."
