Tom Brady joins 'Madden 99 Club' once again
Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes shared the cover of last year's popular "Madden 22" NFL video game, and the seven-time Super Bowl champion saw his character's rating get boosted to a perfect 99 overall in October after he became the league's all-time leader in career passing yards.
Now that the GOAT has ridden off into the sunset of retirement, EA Sports has once again bestowed that honor upon the legendary signal-caller:
Brady celebrated his 44th birthday in August and then went on to enjoy a season that would've been worthy of Most Valuable Player honors in many years. Per ESPN stats, he led the NFL with 5,316 passing yards, 43 passing touchdowns, 485 completions and 719 attempts. He finished seventh among eligible quarterbacks with a 102.1 passer rating and second behind only Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers with a 68.1 total QBR.
Not bad for a guy who, per Mark Delaney of Gamespot, had a "Madden" rating of 57 overall as a sixth-round pick of the 2000 NFL Draft and then a 51 rating the following year.
