Tom Brady is one of the most durable athletes in professional sports history.
The 44-year-old is playing near an MVP level with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the start of the 2021 season and there seems to be no limit to what he can do.
The only thing that can slow Brady down is an injury.
One big hit can change this storyline from him playing forever to retiring much sooner.
So any injury, no matter the scale, is a concern for him.
Thus, some injury news surrounding Brady may have spooked some Buccaneers fans this week.
It was reported he was dealing with a thumb injury and that was notable because the team is back in action Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Yet this is Brady, so naturally he revealed he is doing just fine and will play.
He may truly be made of elastic.
Fighting Through Soreness
Brady doesn’t seem to be too worried about this ailment.
He just finished tossing five touchdowns on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins in what was his second five-touchdown game of the year.
The veteran leads the league in passing yards and is second in touchdowns with 15, just one behind Patrick Mahomes.
Once again, the only thing that could ever seemingly slow him down would be an injury preventing him from throwing the football.
Until that happens, the 4-1 Bucs remain Super Bowl favorites.
No End In Sight
The New England Patriots thought Brady was slowing down years ago.
Now he is playing at the same elite level he was more than a decade ago.
Thursday night is another opportunity to carve up a defense in primetime and while the team is on short rest, that is nothing new for Brady.
It may be more of a factor for a younger quarterback like Jalen Hurts.
Brady is merely sore, which is true for most NFL players and especially those on a short week.
So unless Hurts is able to engage in a shootout with the veteran, there is no reason to believe Brady will slow down at all Thursday night.
