It is still difficult to fathom what made Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady retire in the first place.
He’s not at the end of his career, as proven by his 5,316 yards and 43 touchdowns during the 2021 regular season.
The Buccaneers also made the playoffs but lost at home to the eventual Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams.
Perhaps that defeat was tough for him to swallow, especially after leading the Buccaneers back from a 27-3 deficit.
But he couldn’t imagine life without football and he is still great at it even if he’s already 44 years old.
Therefore, he ended his retirement after 40 days and will return for his 23rd NFL season.
He has been playing for so long that the sons of former adversaries are now playing in the league.
As he leads the Buccaneers for another season, Brady never lost his comical chops, especially on social media.
For that reason, his latest commercial with Hertz could have inspired him to take the field again.
Brady tweeted, “People are always asking what brought me out of retirement. I just had an epiphany on the @Hertz set. Maybe all I needed was a vacation…”
It showed him being a director as one of his post-retirement career options.
The commercial ended with him saying “I’m not leaving,” alluding to his decision to continue playing.
Brady Will Lead The Buccaneers Once More
He will be playing the final year of his existing contract with the Buccaneers.
While it’s still uncertain if it is really his final playing year, his impending ten-year, $375 million deal to be FOX’s NFL analyst indicates that this could be it.
Therefore, he would like to go out on top by winning his eighth Super Bowl title and second with Tampa Bay.
He has the roster that can help him achieve that feat before hanging up his cleats for good.
