Tom Brady won't join Fox for playoffs if Buccaneers fail to make postseason

Plenty of questions remained unanswered shortly after it was learned this spring that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will eventually join Fox Sports as its lead NFL analyst on a deal reportedly worth $375 million over 10 years.

Fox holds the broadcast rights for Super Bowl LVII this coming February, and some openly wondered if the seven-time champion signal-caller could either team up with Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen in the booth or work as an analyst for that contest if the Buccaneers aren't playing on the season's final Sunday.

Brady recently remarked during a conversation with Variety's Ramin Setoodeh that the 2022 NFL season could "absolutely" be his last as an active player, but the G.O.A.T. who turns 45 years old early next month added that he could "absolutely" change his mind. Brady was also asked about heading to Fox as soon as January or February if the Buccaneers miss out on the playoffs, and he made it clear that's not on the table.

"No," Brady answered about working for Fox this winter. "I want to focus on football. I really want to commit to this year to be as best as I possibly can."

Brady admitted he's "very close to the end" of his playing career but also said it could be "another two or three years" before he trades his cleats in for a Fox microphone. Remember, though, that the future Hall of Famer is somebody who can "absolutely" change his mind at any time, so it appears the only sure thing about his immediate future is that he plans to be on the field for the Buccaneers in Week 1 this September.
