The player many experts view as the top quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft is hoping he can be the next QB of the Miami Dolphins, despite the team already being invested in a young signal-caller currently on the team.

Tua Tagovailoa has had a very unusual first three years with the Miami Dolphins. After being taken with the fifth pick overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, the team showed patience in his rookie year and realized there would be growing pains during the 10 games he played. However, in year two the expectations were higher the Alabama alum only showed moderate progress.

Heading into his third season, there were some questions about if Tagovailoa could be the franchise QB the organization has been looking for the last two decades. And while he and wide receiver Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle formed a dynamic passing trio for much of 2022, his battle with concussions left even more questions by the end of the season.

It seems if things don’t go well for the current Miami Dolphins starting QB in 2023, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner is hoping he can be the team’s replacement in 2024.

On Wednesday, the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner, Caleb Williams, spoke to People about his stardom in college football and immense future in the NFL. When asked about the possibility of declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft, the USC star only had one team in mind if he can choose his home at the next level.

“I like to be around younger coaches. I’d probably go to the Dolphins. I also would be able to play with Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Mike Gesicki. The defense isn’t bad. That’s probably my number one spot.”

There is a whole bunch of time before we reach the draft next year, especially with the 2023 event still ahead. But Miami Dolphins fans certainly would be intrigued by the idea of a star Heisman Trophy winner joining their franchise if Tua Tagovailoa can’t take his game to Pro Bowl levels next season.
