The saying goes that there's no place like home, and the Buffalo Bills are looking to uphold that mantra on Sunday.
Buffalo started the season on a sour note, losing to the division-rival New York Jets in overtime on Monday night. The days after haven't been fun either, as the team has dealt with more than its share of questions and drama.
On Sunday, the Bills will look to put the rough week behind them as they host the Las Vegas Raiders. Notably, this game will also mark the official home debut of the Bills' rookies. One such rookie, offensive guard O'Cyrus Torrence, is anticipating Bills Mafia to bring its A-game for his first showing at Highmark Stadium.
"I'm expecting it to be crazy," Torrence told reporters. "I'm expecting it to be probably one of the best home games that I've been to in my football career. They showed out the first preseason game so I'm excited to see how they're going to come out."
A second-round pick out of Florida, Torrence had a quiet but very respectable debut on Monday. The rookie right guard earned the highest Pro Football Focus grade of any Bills lineman at 69.7. Admittedly, that's not a particularly high bar with the Bills allowing five sacks on Monday, but still a solid showing for his first career game.
“I have a lot of admiration for how he (handled it). I remember my first game and how he felt as a rookie. To have that on the road, versus that defense on 9/11, in New York City?,” center Mitch Morse said of Torrence. “I thought he did a very good job.”
Of course, Bills fans have gained notoriety for going all-out at games. For Torrence's first career home game, he's expecting Bills Mafia to bring its A-game once again.
