Trade for Raiders WR named ‘dream offseason move’ for Ravens

It’s no secret the Baltimore Ravens plan to surround whomever is under center in 2023 with a better group of receivers.

With Demarcus Robinson and DeSean Jackson set to hit free agency, the Ravens return just two of their four leading receivers from 2022.

Looking to upgrade the position, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox believes prying Hunter Renfrow away from the Las Vegas Raiders would be best-case scenario for Baltimore.

“Renfrow had a down year in 2022, in part because he missed time with a concussion and an oblique injury,” Knox wrote. “But in 2021, he caught a career-high 103 passes for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns. There has been some buzz about his availability too. … If the Raiders are down on Renfrow, a middle-round pick might get a deal done. He'd be a wonderful addition to a Baltimore team looking to build on a 2022 campaign that ended in the AFC Wild Card Round.”

Baltimore ranked 28th in receptions (300), 30th in receiving yards (3,202) and 22nd in touchdowns (19) with the second-fewest receptions of 20 or more yards (33) and fourth-fewest first downs via pass (149).

Tight end Mark Andrews was the only Ravens player with 50 or more receptions and 500 or more receiving yards. Of the five 100-yard receiving games Baltimore had this year, just two were by a receiver.

Renfrow would be a clear upgrade over Devin Duvernay and Rashod Bateman. While his season was hampered by injuries, he’s just one season removed from a 100-catch, 1,000-yard season.

He averaged 11 yards per reception prior to this year, and he’s caught 72% of his targets three of the last four seasons.
