Buffalo Bills cornerback Rasul Douglas is entering the final year of his contract, and while he just came to western New York in the middle of the season, he could be on his way back out of town.

Bleacher Report suggests an trade that would send Douglas back to the NFC North in a deal with the Detroit Lions. In the prospective trade, the Bills would send a sixth-round pick in this year's draft with Douglas to the Lions for a third-round pick.

"Douglas turns 30 years old in August, and he only has one more year on his deal. Buffalo can save $10 million in cap space, potentially acquire a Day 2 pick in the 2024 draft and find a cheaper replacement for him," Bleacher Report writes.

This is very similar to the deal that brought Douglas to Buffalo just before the trade deadline when the Green Bay Packers upgraded a fifth-round pick into the third round. The trade worked out for the Packers since they exited the playoffs at the same time as the Bills in the Divisional Round.

On top of that, the Packers saved money and upgraded one of their picks in this year's draft.

While Douglas would be valuable to the Bills' secondary, they may be able to get someone with far more value either in free agency or the draft. The least the Bills can do is gauge the market and figure out what kind of trade value Douglas holds.
