Travis Kelce remembers getting beat up by Tim Tebow in college

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce undoubtedly has had a better NFL career than Tim Tebow ever did.

It's nearly guaranteed that Kelce is going to be an NFL Hall of Famer when he decides to hang up his cleats. Meanwhile, Tebow only lasted in the league for three seasons after being taken in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos.

Kelce may be on top NFL-wise, but Tebow will always be remembered as a legend in college football circles. While Kelce was relatively unknown at the University of Cincinnati, Tebow was a Heisman Trophy winner at Florida and arguably one of the best college athletes of all time.

There's a reason we're still talking about him, despite his flameout in the NFL.

Speaking of taking, that's what Kelce was doing on "Pardon My Take" recently, remembering the time that his Cincinnati team met up with Tebow and the Gators in the 2010 Sugar Bowl.

“My only memory of Tim Tebow on the football field was him just throwing us a shellacking in the Sugar Bowl,” Kelce said (h/t On3). “We go undefeated, Brian Kelly goes to Notre Dame right after the season. We’re playing with a bunch of like dads and like, administrative guys from the University of Cincinnati."

“And we go in and play arguably one of the best football teams in college football ever in the Florida Gators that year," Kelce continued. "And that was fun. That was fun to go to. They said Tebow couldn’t throw well, he threw for like 500 yards."

Tebow didn't throw exactly 500 yards in that game, but Kelce's memory is pretty spot-on.

In his last collegiate game, Tebow completed 31-of-35 passes for 482 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 51 yards and a score.

The Gators beat Kelce's Bearcats, 51-24, and the soon-to-be-famous tight end didn't even register a catch.
