Trenton Irwin knew Joe Burrow was in "kill mode" on Sunday afternoon as the Bengals beat the Cardinals 34-20. The passing offense came to life for a season-high 317 yards, including a career-high in catches (eight) and receiving yards (58) from Irwin.

The 27-year-old was solid in Tee Higgins' absence.

"My man was in kill mode from the get-go," Irwin said about Burrow's added mobility. "From the get-go, you could see it and it was cool to see it, cool to have him scamper for a first down when he hadn't done it in a while. You can see it in his eyes. Oh, we were feeding off of that everyone in the whole huddle was hype."

Irwin was a reliable option all day, catching 80% of his targets and filling two roles left open by injury. Higgins on the receiver front and Charlie Jones on the punt return side of things.

He was great in the return game, catching four punts for 68 yards, including a long of 28.

"It felt real good," Irwin said about his comfort catching punts. "I wanted to take that one to the house. Got folded in late. I was close, got taken down by one the last people, but you know I had some good opportunities to help the offense there to get going. And I was feeling hyped early so I was trying to bring juice."
