Pat McAfee went viral a few years ago when he told the story of how Troy Polamalu killed his shot at glory by ruining a trick play. Well, we finally got to hear from Polamalu about how the former Pittsburgh Steelers safety was able to scuttle the moment for the former Indianapolis Colts punter.

To get you familiar, you should first listen to McAfee’s legendary story he told in 2017 that went viral. There is a lot of cussing in the video, but it is absolutely hilarious and sets the stage.

So, why the heck did Polamalu line up in the C-gap instead of his usual spot around the middle of the field? He finally answered that question and said it was because Pittsburgh was aware of its tendency and wanted to finally show opposing teams another look. And that just so happened to come at the exact same time the Indianapolis Colts were going to exploit the tendency by having McAfee keep the ball for a walk-in touchdown.

And here’s McAfee talking about it with Ike Taylor on “The Pat McAfee Show” on DAZN.

Of course, hearing McAfee tell the story is a billion times better than watching the actual play, which is much more boring. But here’s the play in question:

C’mon Troy, nobody believes that Spidey Sense stuff!

Also, McAfee remains an incredible storyteller. His Adrian Peterson handshake story is a gem, as is his Peyton Manning-Austin Collie story.
