NASHVILLE - They say things happen in threes, and if that is true, then what's next for head coach Mike Vrabel and the Tennessee Titans in the wake of the events that have impacted this team in the last two days?

On Thursday, the NFL announced the six-game suspension of starting right tackle Nicholas Petite Frere for violating the league's gambling policy.

Fans and media immediately began to dissect the rule and issue that cost Petite-Frere and the Titans six games. Despite your feelings on the rule, or should it even be a rule, it is, and whether the player didn't know, or didn't understand it, apparently he violated it and now must pay the price.

Then on Friday, it was reported that running back Hassan Haskins had been arrested for aggregated assault, with strangulation, for his part in a serious incident with his girlfriend at their Nashville area home. He is free on a $10,000 bond.

The incident led to Haskins's arrest and continued until his girlfriend,  Makiah Shantel Green, was also arrested by Metro-Nashville Police in a second incident. She was charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault/strangulation and felony vandalism. She is free on a $7,500 bond.

While Petite-Frere's suspension is an annoyance if you believe the reports that he didn't understand the rule, Haskins's arrest and the details of what allegedly occurred between him and Green are disturbing.

Keep in mind, this is not a judgment of Haskins, as that will be left for the justice system to decide his guilt or innocence. Still, the details pause one when reading what occurred.

The Titans released a statement saying the team is aware of the situation and is in the process of gathering more information.

That aside, if the adage of things happening in threes is true, what will we get as the final act of this Titans trilogy?
