A pair of former Vikings cornerbacks have been arrested this week.

Bashaud Breeland, who played with Minnesota in 2021 and has been out of the league since then, was arrested in Charlotte on Tuesday and faces a number of charges, according to WBTV. The charges include possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, and possession of a stolen firearm.

A police report associated with his arrest revealed he was in possession of a stolen Mercedes-Benz SUV, multiple guns, including two AR-15s and two AK-47s. Police seized the vehicle and weapons along with more than five pounds of marijuana, 62 grams of suspected mushrooms and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop along North Graham Street on Monday afternoon. Records show he was released within hours of being arrested after posting a $30,000 bond.

Breeland, a former Super Bowl champion with the Chiefs, was signed by the Vikings in June 2021. He started 13 games that season but was released in December after getting into a verbal altercation with teammates and coaches.

On Friday, news broke that Fred Smoot was arrested in Virginia on Thursday. It's a misdemeanor charge for "failure to comply with support obligations." Smoot, 44, played with the Vikings from 2005 to '06. He was famously at the center of the Vikings' "Love Boat" scandal in 2005, resulting in fines and community service. Smoot, who also played with Washington for seven seasons, has recently worked in broadcasting with the Commanders.
