Carolina's special team's unit made the biggest jump of any team in the NFL in 2022 and a big part of that can be attributed to the addition of punter Johnny Hekker.

The former All-Decade punter posted a career year in his first season with the Panthers, averaging 45.8 yards per punt and also had 39 punts downed inside the 20-yard line, which is the third-most he's had in a single season.

His long snapper, J.J. Jansen, also had a milestone year as he surpassed John Kasay on the franchise's most career games played list, now with 226 under his belt.

Hekker and Jansen were recently named to the NFLPA's Top 3 All Pro Specialists list. They were the only Panthers named, meaning WR DJ Moore, S Jeremy Chinn, DT Derrick Brown, CB Jaycee Horn, and DE Brian Burns were left off of the list at their respective positions.
