The New Orleans Saints did not live up to expectations as a team in the 2023-2024 season. That does not mean that some players did not dominate, though.

Two of their players have gotten the ultimate respect for their performance this year. They both deserve it, too.

Wide receiver/return specialist Rashid Shaheed and linebacker Demario Davis have been named to the Associate Press All-Pro team.

Fans should care more about these nominations rather than the Pro Bowl. The latter is a popularity contest that often leaves out some of the top talents in the NFL.

The All-Pro teams usually pinpoint the players that actually do play the best in a certain season.

This is the 7th consecutive season that the Saints have had at least one All-Pro selection. Davis was named to the second-team, while Shaheed made the first-team.

Demario join former Saints offensive lineman Jahri Evans as only the second Saints player to be selected All-Pro five consecutive times. That's historic company for the franchise. Davis finished the season with 121 total tackles, 74 solo, 4 pass deflections, 11 QB hits, and 6.5 sacks.

Shaheed was arguably the top returner in the NFL. He also recorded 46 catches for 719 yards and 5 touchdowns of offense. In the return game, Shaheed totaled 339 punt return yards and one touchdown. He averaged 13.6 yards per return. That was 2nd in the NFC and 3rd in the NFL.

The Saints got extremely impressive season-long stretches from these two. Their selection gives them props.
