Sunday's Super Bowl LVIII ended in a 25-22 overtime win for the Kansas City Chiefs, marking the team's second consecutive title. Two alumni of Sun Belt Conference schools were members of that KC roster, once again.

Former Georgia Southern running back Jerick McKinnon and former Marshall defensive back Nazeeh Johnson were also members of Kansas City's championship team in 2023.

Johnson was listed on the Chiefs' Injured Reserve list and did not play in the game.

Mckinnon was limited by injuries for most of the postseason, but made his return in Sunday's win. He caught two passes for 15 yards in the win.

Johnson was a seventh-round selection by Kansas City in the 2022 NFL Draft. McKinnon was a third round selection by Minnesota back oin 2014. He has been a member of the Chiefs since 2021. 

In total, four Sun Belt players were part of Super Bowl rosters. Former Louisiana  running back Elijah Mitchell and former South Alabama Darrell Luter Jr. were part of the San Francisco 49ers' losing efforts. Sun Belt alumni have now participated in each of the last six Super Bowls.
