New York Jets ’ tight end Tyler Conklin unveiled a bold vision for his team's future.

Joining the Twitter frenzy surrounding the possible acquisition of Aaron Rodgers, Conklin pointed to the idea of the Jets making a Super Bowl run with the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player as their starting quarterback.

Directly tagging the star signal caller's account in his tweet, Conklin wrote, "@AaronRodgers12 bringing a Super Bowl to NY would be legendary. You take everyone on this offense to the next level. Let’s get it done. From the darkness to NY. [emoji] see you soon [emoji]"

Conklin proved to be a fine free agent addition by general manager Joe Douglas last offseason.

The Jets' pass offense glaringly lacked production from its tight end group in the two seasons directly preceding Conklin's arrival.

The 6-foot-3 tight end, who signed a three-year contract reportedly worth $20.75 million, ranked second on the team behind rookie wide receiver Garrett Wilson in receptions (58) and receiving yards (552) last year. Targeted a total of 87 times by Jets' quarterbacks, Conklin made three touchdown catches and recorded 25 first downs.

Originally drafted by the Vikings in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Conklin went on to play 64 games for Minnesota. He enjoyed a breakout season as a pass-catcher during the final year of his rookie contract, making 61 catches for 593 yards with the Vikings in 2021.

Conklin, a Central Michigan product, would be a reliable target for Rodgers, who had trouble connecting with receivers during the 2022 season in Green Bay.

Coming off back-to-back MVP awards in 2020 and 2021, Rodgers accounted for his second-lowest yards per pass attempt average (6.8) since becoming the Packers’ full-time starter in 2008. Green Bay finished 8-9 overall and missed the playoffs in 2022.
