Only a few weeks on the job, and UCLA head coach DeShaun Foster has been making waves on the recruiting trails.

Foster and his new staff have been offering a host of recruits in both the 2025 and 2026 classes. Appearing far more aggressive and engaged compared to Chip Kelly, Foster has also welcomed several prospects on campus over the weekend.

One of those recruits was 2025 DB Kuron Jabari Jr.

On the visit, Jabari was offered a scholarship by the staff. Taking little time to think it over, the talented defensive back jumped on the offer -- and thus became the first player to commit to UCLA since Foster became the program's head coach.

Hailing from Chaparral High School in Temecula, Jabari is no stranger to playing high-level football. Chaparral is one of the better programs in its region and has been an institution known for churning out college prospects.

Jabari is a player with considerable upside. He's a bigger corner at roughly 6'1" -- though he's not a slow, lumbering type. When not playing football, he participates on the track team.

Over the last few years, UCLA has often been slow in extending offers to good, local talent. It was a case where it deliberated far too much -- and by that time prospects built relationships elsewhere.

Based on the last week of activity, this is a welcomed change from what we've seen in recent memory. It's not hard to recruit to UCLA...all it takes is energy and effort.

Jabari is UCLA's second known commitment in the class of 2025. Linebacker Weston Port committed to the Bruins roughly a month ago.

The defensive back chose UCLA over offers from Arizona State, Michigan State, Oregon State, and San Diego State.
