The news of UCLA hiring Bieniemy was announced last week. The two sides were working toward finalizing his two-year contract.

Bienimey is the first significant hire for new UCLA head coach DeShaun Foster. Foster was hired on February 12th after the departure of former head coach Chip Kelly to Ohio State University to become their offensive coordinator.

Here's what Foster had to say about hiring his new OC and associate head coach, per UCLA Communications.

"Having one of the most innovative offensive minds in football join our staff speaks volumes to the type of program we are building here at UCLA," said head coach . "Coach Bieniemy's belief in our pillars shined throughout our conversations and confirmed he was the right man to not only help us develop an explosive approach on the field, but leaders off of it."

The 54-year-old offensive coordinator and associate head coach come in with much experience. After serving as the Washington Commanders offensive coordinator for the 2023 season, he will join the new Bruins coaching staff. Before that, he was the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Bieniemy was most successful with the Chiefs alongside head coach Andy Reid and superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He played a crucial role in leading the team to five straight AFC champion games, three Super Bowl appearances, and two Super Bowl victories. Bienimey will now look for the same type of success at the Rose Bowl.
