Bucs quarterback Tom Brady suffered an injury to his right shoulder after being sacked in the first half of Tampa Bay’s 41-31 loss to Kansas City on Sunday Night Football. Chiefs nickel cornerback L’Jarius Sneed came free on a delayed blitz and sacked Brady, hitting his throwing arm and forcing a fumble that was recovered by Kansas City with 5:02 left before halftime.

Brady stayed in the game and finished it. He completed 39-of-51 passes (76.4%) for 385 yards, including 190 yards in the second half, and three touchdowns with no interceptions.

When asked about his injured shoulder after the game Brady said: “I’ll be alright – it’s football.”

Brady addressed his ailing shoulder on Monday on social media.

Bucs QB Brady’s Injury Revealed

On Tuesday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport revealed that Brady is dealing with a minor rotator cuff injury.

“My understanding is that Tom Brady is going to be okay,” Rapoport said on NFL Network. “He has played with similar injuries in the past. A little bit of a rotator cuff deal, not believed to be major. Not something that will really limit him going forward. Just really something that Tom Brady is going to keep an eye on.

“We’ve talked about – I would say for the last couple of weeks – the possibility, or likelihood, or plan of Brady taking some Wednesdays off during the season,” Rapoport said. “I would not be surprised if that happened this week. But Tom Brady is going to be okay. It’s nothing that will limit any of his accuracy or strength or really anything long term. Nothing bad, and a little bit of good news there.”
