Urban Meyer apologizes for viral video at Ohio bar

Urban Meyer's first year in the NFL just keeps getting worse — both on  and off the gridiron.

The Jacksonville Jaguars head coach made headlines over the weekend after a video of a woman, not his wife, dancing suggestively against him at an Ohio bar was posted to social media and quickly went viral. In his Monday morning press conference, the 57-year-old coach apologized to his family, the Jaguars and team owner Shad Khan.

“I just apologized to the team and the staff for being a distraction,” Meyer said via WJXT channel 4 news in Jacksonville. “I explained everything that happened and owned it, and, you know, just stupid. Should not have had myself in that kind of position.”

Meyer reportedly was having dinner with his grandson on Thursday following the Jaguars' loss to the Cincinnati Bengals when the incident occurred.

"There (was) a big group next to our restaurant and they wanted me to come over and take pictures and I did," Meyer recalled. "They were trying to pull me out on the dance floor, screwing around, and I should have left."

An incident like this is no doubt the last thing Meyer wanted. Even before his team went 0-4 on the season, pundits have speculated he won't last long in the NFL given the multitude of issues he has had in his first year coaching at the professional level.

Meyer and the Jaguars host the Tennessee Titans next weekend.
