Urban Meyer's temper reportedly rubbed Jaguars players, coaches 'the wrong way'

Urban Meyer hasn't been a head coach in the NFL for long, but there are already questions about the Jacksonville Jaguars bench boss's transition to the league.

Meyer is reportedly "rubbing the Jacksonville Jaguars staff and players the wrong way" because of his temper and unfamiliarity with the NFL level, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

"He has everyone looking over their shoulders already," a source told La Canfora. "He becomes unhinged way too easily, and he doesn't know how to handle losing, even in the preseason. He loses it and wants to take over the drills himself. It's not good."

Meyer is in his first season as an NFL head coach after spending more than 30 years in college football. He led both Ohio State and Florida to national championships.

Meyer's coaching staff is a mix of coaches from the collegiate, such as assistant head coach Charlie Strong, and people with NFL experience, such as offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. According to La Canfora, there is a disconnect between the coaches from different backgrounds.

Meyer has also "lashed out at his staff" and even questioned their job security before the regular season. He reportedly took the preseason very seriously, with the Jaguars going 1-2 in those games.

The Jaguars have a lot of work to do, even with No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence under center. Jacksonville has just one playoff appearance in the last 13 years, and Lawrence alone won't be able to lead the club to the promised land.

If the Jags struggle again this season, Meyer could be out of an NFL coaching job very quickly.
