Training camp is officially underway, meaning the 2023 NFL season is just around the corner. And with a new season approaching, new predictions have dropped, some of which are not treating the Arizona Cardinals too kindly.

After catching the injury bug last year, resulting in a last-place finish in the NFC West, the Cardinals have had quite an interesting offseason.

Whether it be a complete revamp of the coaching staff or a couple of pieces leaving during free agency, there are certainly plenty of unknowns for Arizona as they prepare for their fourth season in the Kyler Murray era.

This, for some, only signals a complete disaster for the Cards.

USA Today has the Arizona Cardinals finishing the 2023 season with an abysmal 2-15 record, beating out the Las Vegas Raiders predicted record of 3-14 for the worst in the league.

As for the reasoning behind this, Nate Davis at USA Today credits the loss of Deandre Hopkins and J.J. Watt to why the Cardinals are in for a long year.

“Even if volatile QB Kyler Murray was 100%, a team undergoing regime change amid the loss of established veterans like WR DeAndre Hopkins and DE J.J. Watt would look quite suspect coming off a four-win season. Owners of Houston’s first-round pick next spring, the Cards could have a legitimate shot at selecting No. 1 and No. 2 in the 2024 draft.”

If the Cardinals were to finish with a 2-15 record, this would mark their worst season since prior to their relocation to Arizona in 1988.

On the bright side, if this prediction does play out, the Cardinals will be able to claim the #1 and #2 overall picks in the 2024 Draft….
