Veteran pass-rusher Melvin Ingram to visit with Chiefs
Veteran pass-rusher Melvin Ingram has spent his entire career with the Los Angeles Chargers. Now that he's a free agent, that could change.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Ingram is set to meet with the Kansas City Chiefs this coming week.
Ingram was limited to seven games in 2020 due to injury. In nine seasons and 113 games with the Chargers, the 31-year-old has 49 sacks, three interceptions, 14 forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries, 360 tackles and 108 quarterback hits. He made the Pro Bowl in three straight seasons from 2017-19.
Kansas City still has Frank Clark and Chris Jones on board, but the Chiefs are trying to add depth in several areas after a Super Bowl loss to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
