Veteran WR gives bold take on Kenny Pickett's 'knack for winning'

Steelers QB Kenny Pickett gained the respect of his teammates as a rookie. However, the second-year quarterback has already made an impression on a new teammate before even playing a snap together.

"I'm a person who watches a lot of football. So, I was able to see Kenny. I was able to watch Kenny in college in some of those big games," WR Allen Robinson II, who joined the team in a trade this offseason, told reporters. "When you have a guy like that who has a knack for winning ... I don't think that that goes anywhere once a guy comes to the NFL."

The start to Pickett's NFL career didn't include a lot of winning but it didn't take long for him to find his way back to it.

After beginning 1-3 as a starter in 2022, Pickett led Pittsburgh 6-2 down the stretch with one of the two losses being a game where he had just one pass attempt before leaving with a concussion.

Pickett ended his rookie year with four game-winning drives, two in back-to-back weeks to end the year.

In Weeks 16 and 17, he became the first rookie in NFL history to have a game-winning touchdown pass in the final minute in back-to-back games.

There is good reason why some believe the Steelers will be a dark horse contender this season as Pittsburgh has continued to build around its quarterback with those like Robinson II.

Pickett not only has fans optimistic for 2023 but his teammates as well and Robinson II is just the latest example.
