Video: Peyton Manning calls timeout 62 times as Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett lets clock run

One would think Peyton Manning has some sort of investment in the Denver Broncos. He was interested in buying the team, after all. Oh, and there's that Super Bowl he won with the Broncos as well. That was a pretty big deal for both him and the franchise.

Manning -- an NFL Hall-of-Famer turned one-half of the hilarious but also informative "Manningcast" with his brother Eli Manning during Monday Night Football games -- tipped his fandom a bit in the final moments of last Monday night's matchup between the Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks.

If you haven't heard about it by now, here is the quick rundown. The Broncos were losing late in the fourth quarter by one point, but head coach Nathaniel Hackett had an opportunity to potentially win the game using the timeouts at his disposal and trusting in his future Hall of Fame quarterback, Russell Wilson, to drive the team down the field into position to score.

On 4th-and-5, instead of letting Wilson "cook," Hackett decided to hold onto his timeouts, bleed the clock all the way down to 20 seconds, and kick a 64-yard field goal.

The field goal was no good and the Broncos lost. It was such a bad decision that even Hackett admitted the next day that he should have gone for it instead.

If only he had Manning in his headset rather than whoever was walking him through that decision on Monday night. Manning, known as arguably the most cerebral quarterback of all time, was calling for the timeout as soon as it could have happened.

In fact, according to Manning's Omaha Productions, the former quarterback called for timeouts 62 times.

Had only one of those 62 timeout calls made it onto the field, perhaps the Broncos would be 1-0 right now. Instead, Hackett and Wilson took the loss in arguably the most embarrassing way in front of his old fan base.
