Vikings announce bulk of 2022 coaching staff

It was reported eight days ago that former Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Ed Donatell "emerged as the favorite " for the same job with the Minnesota Vikings. On Thursday morning, the NFC North team made the hiring official.

The move to bring in Donatell was among nine hirings that the Vikings announced on Thursday. The others included Mike Pettine (assistant head coach), Brian Angelichio (tight ends/passing game coordinator), Jerrod Johnson (assistant quarterbacks), Chris Kuper (offensive line), Curtis Modkins (running backs coach/running game coordinator), Chris O'Hara (quarterbacks), Justin Rascati (assistant offensive line) and Chris Rumph (defensive line).

Minnesota is still seeking a new offensive coordinator but is reportedly set to interview Los Angeles Rams assistant head coach Thomas Brown for the gig.

The Vikings finished last season 8-9, missing the playoffs for the second year in a row.
