The Minnesota Vikings just did something they had failed to do in each of the team's first four games of the season.

Yes, the team finally scored points in the first quarter. Thanks to a 40-yard Greg Joseph field goal, the Vikes got on the board in the first.

Joseph's field goal cut the lead to 7-3 Chiefs. Those three points would be the last scored by either team in the quarter.

The Vikings' first quarter struggles have been well-documented. Against the Buccaneers in Week 1 and against the Eagles in Week 2, the team was in a 3-0 hole after one.

In Weeks 3 and 4, the team was down 7-0 after one.

The Vikings went on to lose three of those four games, showcasing how difficult it is to play from behind in the NFL.

While Kevin O'Connell would assuredly prefer to be leading after one for once, you can't be too mad about finally getting SOME points.

The Chiefs added a field goal to make it 10-3 early in the second quarter. The Vikings will get the ball back in a seven-point deficit. We'll see if the team can add more than three points before halftime.
