Justin Jefferson returned on Sunday from a several-week absence, but the Minnesota Vikings star suffered yet another injury that forced him from the game. It does not sound like the latest will keep him out very long, however.

Jefferson took a huge hit in the second quarter of Minnesota’s 3-0 win to the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday. He was initially listed as questionable to return but then ruled out and taken to a local hospital for precautionary reasons.

Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell told reporters on Monday that Jefferson is considered day-to-day with a chest injury. The star wide receiver is not being ruled out for Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

That is certainly a positive sign. Though, it should be noted that the Vikings were extremely cautious with Jefferson after the three-time Pro Bowl receiver suffered a hamstring injury in Week 5.

The Vikings improved to 7-6 with their win over Las Vegas, so they are squarely in the playoff hunt. That could play a role in Jefferson’s availability in Week 15 and beyond.
