Vikings RB Dalvin Cook questionable vs. Seahawks with ankle injury

Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is questionable for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks with an ankle injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Cook suffered the ankle injury in last weekend's 34-33 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He had 22 carries for 131 yards in that game.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer told reporters earlier this week that he planned to use Cook as he normally would against the Seahawks, per ESPN's Courtney Cronin.

"You know, at this stage, it's time to get some wins," Zimmer said. "Dalvin's a tough guy. If he can't play, there's a reason why he's not playing. But he makes us go, so we're going to continue to play him."

Cook has the fourth-most rushing yards of any running back through the first two weeks of the season, with 193 on 42 attempts. Every running back above him on the list has more attempts.

The 26-year-old is in his fifth season with the Vikings. He earned back-to-back Pro Bowl selections in 2019 and 2020 after recording more than 1,000 rushing yards in each of those seasons.

Minnesota is off to an 0-2 start for the second straight season with losses to the Cardinals and Cincinnati Bengals on the road. The Vikings will need Cook available if they have any hope of beating the Seahawks.

If the Florida St. product is unable to play, Alexander Mattison will likely see a majority of the snaps in the backfield. He has four carries for 13 yards and two catches for 21 yards this season.
