Fullback CJ Ham and the Minnesota Vikings agreed to a two-year contract extension on Wednesday, while the Vikings also signed a pair of free agents.

The free agents who signed are linebacker Troy Reeder and wide receiver Brandon Powell. Terms of their deals with the Vikings weren't immediately known.

Reeder, 28, won the Super Bowl with the Rams in 2021 so there's some familiarity with Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell, who was the offensive coordinator for those Super Bowl-winning Rams.

Reeder played for the Chargers last season, serving primarily on special teams. In 66 career games, he has 241 tackles, five sacks and two interceptions.

Powell had 24 receptions for the Rams last season, though his main role came as a return man. He has three touchdowns in the NFL, one of them a 61-yard punt return for against the Vikings in 2021. In 49 career punt returns he's averaged 9.6 yards per return, and he's averaged 20.2 yards on 30 career kickoff returns.

As for Ham, the Duluth native will be staying home in Minnesota with a two-year contract extension that was confirmed by his agent Blake Baratz.

Ham staying on the roster coupled with the signed of blocking tight end Josh Oliver are indications that Minnesota is focused on fixing the running game that was one of the least productive in the league last season.
