Vikings start season with a bang as Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson connect for a TD
The Minnesota Vikings have started the season strong. After gambling on a fourth and 1, quarterback Kirk Cousins connected with Justin Jefferson for a touchdown to open up against the rival Green Bay Packers.
This Vikings season begins the debut of head coach Kevin O'Connell, and his play calling has already shown to be effective. Contrary to a timid Mike Zimmer, who might have elected to try the obvious run play or go for the field goal, O'Connell left it all on the line.
Not only was it effective, it starts off both Jefferson's and Cousins' season with a touchdown in their first game. The Vikings lead the Packers 7-0, and it all came off with a gamble by O'Connell to trust his weapons in Cousins and Jefferson.
