Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor is dealing with a leg injury, head coach Kevin O'Connell said on Saturday.

An ascending second-year player who has impressed in practices this offseason, Nailor has missed the last few training camp sessions because of his injury. It doesn't sound like it's anything too serious.

"Jalen Nailor sustained kind of a contact leg injury in a clean play on a competitive ball in the air," O'Connell said. "He’s day-to-day. We’re hoping to turn him over and have him pretty ready to roll here, hopefully early next week. I’ll keep you guys posted, but Jalen is doing really well."

Nailor was selected in the sixth round of the 2022 draft out of Michigan State. He showed some upside late in his rookie year, with seven of his nine receptions coming in the final two weeks of the regular season. Nailor continued that momentum into OTA and minicamp practices this spring by making a bunch of plays. He's spent a fair amount of time with the first-team offense this year and figures to enter his second season as the Vikings' No. 4 wide receiver behind Justin Jefferson, K.J. Osborn, and rookie Jordan Addison.

At MSU, Nailor was a big-play threat who averaged 19.2 yards per receptions with ten touchdowns over his final two seasons. Nicknamed "speedy," he plays faster than his 4.5 40 would indicate. He was an important special teams player for the Vikings as a rookie.
