The Seattle Seahawks got a good look at a rookie running back during their 24-13 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in their preseason opener at Lumen Field on Thursday night.

But on Saturday, they got another look at the young back who proceeded him here.

"Kenny (Walker III) jumped back out (to workouts) today,'' coach Pete Carroll said on Saturday. "He got going. He'll start picking up some reps now ...''

And so will rookie running back Zach Charbonnet, who earned positive attention in that preseason game.

The UCLA product carried the ball four times for 14 yards and caught two passes for 14 yards during his time on the field ... and earned Carroll's praise.

“Looked good, didn’t he?" Carroll said. “He looked really physical. Guys on the sidelines were going crazy for him. He has had a great start with us."

As the Seahawks prepare to host the Dallas Cowboys on Aug. 19 followed by a matchup at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers on Aug. 26, the remaining preseason games will be of significant importance for Charbonnet.

If Charbonnet can establish himself as a contributor on offense, he will play a pivotal role in the Seahawks' quest to secure a postseason berth for the second consecutive year.

Walker has been out since early in training camp with a groin issue, and the Seahawks have been careful there. In the end, Seattle has a chance to be both efficient as a ball-control team and explosive in every other way, in part because of the 1-2 punch that Walker and Charbonnet figure to provide.
