The Washington Commanders official 2022 schedule is here. The Commanders are tied with their rival Dallas Cowboys for the NFL’s weakest schedule based on opponents’ win percentage from last season.

Washington will be featured in two primetime games. We already learned through leaks of the schedule,  the Commanders will play at the Chicago Bears in Week 6 on Thursday Night Football.

The Commanders’ other primetime game will feature quarterback Carson Wentz’s return to Philadelphia to face the Eagles, the team that drafted him second overall in 2016, on Monday Night Football on Nov. 14.

Wentz’s return to the Eagles will be two weeks after the QB’s return to his other NFL team, the Indianapolis Colts Oct. 30. It’s the only 4:25 p.m. start – the late afternoon slate – for the Commanders.

Another notable game involves Wentz as well. The Commanders open the season at home at FedEx Field against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars knocked Wentz and the Colts out of playoff contention in Week 18. The loss spearheaded Wentz’s departure from Indianapolis to Washington.

In addition, Wentz will get to face his former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson. The Jaguars hired Pederson to be their head coach after he sat out the 2021 season following his firing from the Eagles.
