Washington loses WR Terry McLaurin to concussion vs. Cowboys in Week 14

Washington managed to cobble together a four-game winning streak, despite losing several key players to injury. The hits kept coming in Week 14 when the team lost wide receiver Terry McLaurin to a concussion.

McLaurin, 26, suffered the injury when he landed hard after trying to haul in a deep pass down the right sideline early in the third quarter. He was initially ruled questionable to return, but was ruled out for the remainder of the game in the fourth quarter.

Earlier this week, Washington placed tight end Logan Thomas on injured reserve due to a knee injury. Also losing the team's leading receiver, McLaurin, leaves quarterback Taylor Heinicke without many reliable receiving options.

Washington was 2-6 when the team hit its Week 9 bye, but rallied to win four consecutive games. Along the way, the team lost defensive ends Chase Young and Montez Sweat to the injured reserve. Still, the team was within reach of the 8-4 Dallas Cowboys heading into Week 14; however, Washington fell into a 24-0 hole in the first half.

Heinicke managed to find Cam Sims for a 43-yard touchdown not long after losing McLaurin, but the deficit got deeper after running back Antonio Gibson fumbled deep in Dallas territory to set up a short Cowboys field goal.
