Nearly a month has passed since the Seattle Seahawks parted ways with longtime coach Pete Carroll, and the tributes are still pouring in.

The latest group to honor Carroll's legacy in the Emerald City is, the Washington State Senate? Believe it or not, yes.

At Friday's meeting, senate members approved a resolution honoring Carroll's "glorious" 14-year tenure in Seattle before sharing their favorite memories of his time there. Senate member Ann Rivers, the resolution's prime sponsor who wore a Seahawks No. 12 jersey to the meeting, summed up Carroll's impact on the city as best as one could.

“He thrilled us, he inspired us, he united us,” Rivers said, per KOMO News.

The resolution, formally known as Senate Resolution 8655, only further illustrates the state's respect for him.

"Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the Washington State Senate honor and congratulate Pete Carroll, not only for his memorable and rewarding 14 years as the Seattle Seahawks head coach, but also for his dedication to making the world around him a better place," the resolution reads.

Carroll, who is still with the Seahawks in an advisory role, ends his time in Seattle with a 137-89-1 record, winning five division titles, two NFC Championship Games and the franchise's first Super Bowl.
