Watch: Aaron Rodgers' message to Jordan Love after Bears win

The Green Bay Packers are officially Jordan Love's team, but his former mentor Aaron Rodgers has been paying attention to his protege.

Friday afternoon on "The Pat McAfee Show," Rodgers told McAfee that he had a message for Love after Green Bay's Week 1 victory over the Chicago Bears

"When they pulled away I sent him a message 'congratulations on keeping the ownership in place,'" Rodgers said.

Rodgers, who is 24-5 against Chicago in his career, went viral for informing Bears fans he owned them after scoring a touchdown in 2021.

Now, after watching from the sidelines for three years following his first-round selection in the 2020 draft, Love seems up to the task of continuing Green Bay's dominance.

The most encouraging part about the beginning of the Jordan Love era has been the way he's protected the ball.

Despite a disappointing loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2, Love recorded his second three touchdown, zero interception game to start 2023.

Against Chicago in the season-opener he displayed an ability to make a variety of throws, dropping red-zone dimes to Romeo Doubs twice and connecting with Aaron Jones on a check-down for a third score.

"He's always had a good head on his shoulders," Rodgers continued on McAfee's show. "Ball security is job security, so for him to not throw a pick so far is really, really important."

Despite appearing in just 10 games with one start before 2023, Love appears to have the poise and confidence of a much more experienced quarterback thanks to his time behind Rodgers. At 24 years old, he's had the opportunity to learn from a future Hall-of-Famer without putting his body through the punishment of a full-time starter.

This unique combination of experience and youth is why Love is the quarterback of the future in the NFC North and why the division still runs through Green Bay.
