Watch: Announcers fall silent as Bills' Josh Allen gets a 'tush push'

Playing in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen smashed his way into the end zone in the game’s final minutes with a little help from his friends.

Trailing 25-13 late in the fourth quarter, Allen got his team down to the Jacksonville 3-yard line with a pair of long completions to Deonte Harty and Gabe Davis. Lined up in the shotgun, Allen called his own number but was stopped just short of the end zone.

What happened next may have upset Jaguars fans, but it definitely annoyed fans of the Philadelphia Eagles. Once Allen was stopped short of the goal line, no less than four Bills offensive linemen started pushing their quarterback forward until he scored a touchdown.

That’s a “tush push,” everybody, a staple of Philadelphia’s playbook and what many consider the scourge of NFL football. Unfortunately, the moment was lost on announcers Rich Eisen and Kurt Warner, who were too busy singing Allen’s praises.

Neither pointed out the obvious parallel between the Bills touchdown and the signature Eagles play. That’s surprising given how much attention the “tush push” receives on the NFL Network. Gentlemen, until you’re ready to point out the obvious in game situations, maybe you should both stay behind the desk.
