The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made sure to lock up their franchise quarterback before free agency started.

Tampa Bay re-signed quarterback Baker Mayfield to a three-year deal worth up to $100 million, and Bucs fans and staff alike are excited about it. Another person who seems particularly excited is Buccaneers legend Ronde Barber, and if you're Mayfield, having a Tampa Bay icon be a fan of your game is a good sign you're doing things right.

Barber broke down some Baker Mayfield film on Monday, and while he did so, he had nothing but good things to say about the Bucs signal caller.

"It's important to have a quarterback, and we have our quarterback," Barber said in the video. "We all know what Baker is. He's talented, a winner on every level, has great arm talent, an amazing improviser and his instincts are off the charts."

Barber broke down film from a number of Mayfield's games, and he particularly praised his improvisational skills and his ability to evade sacks and extend plays.

Mayfield was two years old when Ronde Barber joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1997. The two both hit milestones in 2023, though — Mayfield joined the Bucs on a one year deal and had one of the best seasons of his career, and Barber was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame for his efforts with Tampa Bay in an illustrious 15-year career.
