Watch: Chiefs Super Bowl hero laughs at idea of returning to Jets

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman is slated to become a free agent in March.

The 25-year-old recently discussed his future, and while he doesn't know if he'll be back with the Super Bowl champions, there's one team he seems sure that he can rule out.

Hardman played four seasons with the Chiefs from 2019-2022 to begin his career, suiting up in every game through his first three campaigns.

He earned Pro Bowl honors as a rookie, finishing third in the NFL that year in kick returns (27), kick return yards (704) and kick and punt return yards (871). Hardman ended the 2019 season with what is still a career-high 1,426 all-purpose yards.

The Georgia product signed with the New York Jets last March but ended up stuck in a crowded wide receivers' room that included Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb among others. Hardman recorded only one catch for six yards on three targets with Gang Green, despite appearing in five games.

He was re-acquired by Kansas City in a mid-October trade and posted 14 receptions for 118 yards on 21 targets across six regular-season games.

Hardman struggled in the team's first three playoff contests this winter, registering two rushing attempts for -5 yards and two catches for five yards on four targets. He also lost a costly fumble in the divisional round against the Buffalo Bills before playing only one snap vs. the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game.

Hardman was on the field for only 19 snaps in Super Bowl LVIII, but made his time count, finishing with three catches for 57 yards and the game-winning touchdown reception in overtime.
