Deuce Vaughn Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys on Saturday used one of their sixth-round picks to draft Kansas State running back Deuce Vaughn, which led to quite a cool scene in the team’s draft room.

Vaughn's father, Chris, is assistant director of college scouting for the organization and ESPN captured Dad's reaction to Dallas drafting his son. It was pretty awesome.

You can see the elder Vaughn go over and hug both Stephen Jones and Jerry Jones. Then, he had the duty of calling his son to inform him of the big news.

That was great.

The Cowboys also shared a cool photo of father and son from when the running back was a young boy -- and wearing a Cowboys shirt.

Vaughn may have been a sixth-round pick -- No. 212 overall -- but he is not just some courtesy selection. Though he is small at 5-foot-6, Vaughn was extremely productive at Kansas State. This past season, he rushed for 1,558 yards and nine touchdowns while logging a 42-378-3 receiving line.

As a sophomore, Vaughn posted over 1,800 combined yards between rushing and receiving while scoring 22 touchdowns. He is a genuine prospect rather than a family favor.
