Watch: Eagles punt returner is all wet at recent practice

Philadelphia was lovely Friday, but it’s not always sunny in Kansas City. Eagles coaches know this and appear to be getting their special teams ready.

According to stadiumforecast.com, temperatures could get down to 40 degrees when the Chiefs host the Eagles on “Monday Night Football.” There’s also a 70% chance of rain before kickoff, and as you can see, the team isn’t taking any chances.

There is no word on which coach drew water bottle duty for this drill, but that’s second-year punt returner Britain Covey getting sprayed in the face while fielding a kick. The Eagles are nothing if not thorough, and getting Covey ready for adverse conditions may not be such a bad idea.

Why is he holding one football while trying to field another? Does the staff have some kind of trick up their sleeves? With most of the NFL already up in arms over the “tush push,” maybe it should reconsider.
