Watch: Giants RB Saquon Barkley makes excellent catch on 24-yard TD

The Giants offense has several issues, so if star running back Saquon Barkley could get back in the groove that would be ideal for New York.

Against the Washington Commanders, New York rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito threw a 24-yard TD to Barkley, who made an excellent over-the-shoulder catch. The big play gave the Giants a 7-0 lead with 6:29 left in the first quarter.

Barkley — a two-time Pro Bowler — has struggled to get it going this season. He has rushed for 568 yards and one TD on 139 rushing attempts in seven games.

The Giants need more from Barkley. Starting QB Daniel Jones (torn ACL) is out for the rest of the season, and backup Tyrod Taylor (ribs) is on injured reserve. Due in part to the injuries at the most important position, New York (2-8) is last in the NFL in points scored (11.8).

The excellent catch might help Barkley rebuild momentum, which will help the Giants' inept offense.
