Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone took to the media on Wednesday to discuss his team’s upcoming game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

It goes without saying that questions quickly turned to Tuesday’s blockbuster trade of Jalen Ramsey to the Los Angeles Rams.

Marrone showed real frustration in having to answer questions about the trade while front office heads Dave Caldwell and Tom Coughlin remain in the wind.

The ending of that clip is rather interesting. “And I wish we could get someone up here that can answer it for him,” Marrone said about the trade.

It’s clear that Marrone is taking a shot at Caldwell and Coughlin here. For good reason. He’s just the head coach. Marrone had no role in the decision to trade Jacksonville’s best defender. Maybe Coughlin and Caldwell should take the heat and answer questions?

Marrone was also asked if he was surprised by the Ramsey trade. His response was telling. “In this league nothing surprises me anymore… especially from the business side of things.”

In talking about how Ramsey handled himself after requesting a trade, Marrone seemed to support his now-former player — one that went after him on the sideline earlier this season.

It’s rather obvious there’s a split between Marrone and the Jaguars’ front office. At 2-4 on the season, one has to wonder if it’s going to get ugly in Duval.
