Regardless of whether or not one believes in momentum, capitalizing on the plays that get that word thrown around is critical to winning football games.

Despite their blunders , the Buffalo Bills had their prayers answered when receiver Deonte Harty took a return more than 90 yards to the house for a game-tying touchdown. Attempting to steal a win in Miami, the Buffalo defense held strong.

After forcing a three-and-out and getting the ball back, it was the offense’s turn to build on the score. Eight plays later, they did just that.

Veteran tight end Dawson Knox was targeted in the flat at the Miami Dolphins’ two-yard line. He would extend into the end zone to give the Bills the lead.

The touchdown pass was quarterback Josh Allen’s second of the night, and his first on a somewhat normal play. At this point, Buffalo will take the points however they come.

The score gave the Bills a 21-14 lead halfway through the fourth quarter.

Buffalo’s tight ends have played well tonight. Knox caught two of his three targets for 22 yards and a score, and rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid has shown up for seven receptions on eight targets for 84 yards.

Putting Miami behind the eight-ball was imperative. It put the offense in a pass-heavy situation and put the defense in a better position to get after the quarterback. They would follow that score up with another quick stop, allowing the offense to chew the clock until the two-minute warning

In what could be the final score of Sunday’s action, Buffalo leaned on one of its oldest connections, and it came through.
