Watch: Lions rookie RB Jahmyr Gibbs scores 31-yard TD

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs has a need for speed in the divisional round against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

With 13:13 remaining in the fourth quarter, Gibbs made a quick cutback and turned it upfield for a 31-yard TD, giving the Lions a 24-17 lead. Through two quarters, the rookie has nine carries for 74 yards and one TD.

Some thought the Lions made a mistake when they selected the former Alabama and Georgia Tech star with the 12th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Clearly, he's quelled some of those skeptics.

In 17 regular-season games, the 21-year-old finished 10th in the league rushing TDs (10) and had 982 yards on 182 carries.

According to Fox Sports, he's tied with Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice for the fifth-best Offensive Rookie of the Year odds (+20000). Don't be surprised if he keeps making a name for himself in the postseason.

The Lions will face the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC championship game if they beat the Buccaneers.
