Watch: Lions WR Jameson Williams opens NFC Championship game with explosive touchdown run

The Detroit Lions did not waste any time making a statement in Sunday's NFC Championship game.

Wide receiver Jameson Williams got them off to a fast start by bolting for an electrifying 42-yard run on the fourth play from scrimmage.

Have a look.

Williams' career with the Lions hasn't always been smooth, but he has definitely shown the ability to make game-changing splash plays. This was the fifth touchdown of his career, with four of them coming on plays of 30 yards or more.

The Lions selected Williams in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft even though he was coming off a major knee injury in college. He missed the first 11 games of his NFL career while recovering from that injury. He later missed the first four games of the 2023-24 season due to a suspension for violating the league's gambling policy.

Missing that many games so early in a career can be a big hurdle for a young player to overcome, but Williams has enormous upside and talent. The Lions have seem glimpses of it and Sunday's scintillating run might be the most exciting one Lions fans have seen given the stage.
